8 Minute Post – Becoming Un-boring

Check that – actually in 7 minutes now, I have a call I need to get on. So I want to see if I can get this out in 7 minutes. And counting. 6 now. Includes finding a Flickr pic to go with it.

How to Become Un-boring

So my quest now is unraveling the direction I’ve been headed in and becoming un-boring (that means, the opposite of boring, :) ). After I dropped off my son this morning at daycare, a thought occurred to me that much of what is out there is utterly boring. I’m boring, too.

Not that my posts are particularly boring, but my direction is. Everyone is doing it. Some are doing it better. Some are doing it worse. But just because everyone is doing it doesn’t mean that you as my readers don’t benefit from me saying it, too. I just think there’s a better way.

So here’s what you’ll expect to see soon:

  • A different take on things. Truth is, I completely disagree with a lot of what’s being said. I realize that being original is basically suicide, but I’m going to try it out.
  • More exposés. Who is doing what you want to do be doing, and how are they accomplishing it?
  • Shorter posts. This is always good.
  • A better mix of media.
  • More humor. Just because.

That’s it. I have 30 seconds to find an image and insert it. Can it be done?

Result: No. I finished in 10 minutes, though. Not bad, eh?

At initial level of blogging when we post articles and have no visitors no comments we feel boring and our interest to make money online using blog is becoming low. but if we work on the principle of relationship management and update our skills while reading in other blogs this Enhance our skills and is big reason for successful blogging for money. we should self motivated and inspire us from our surrounding. great post.

Tia, you are great! You have already so much individuality, - I have only just found your blog recently and am looking forward to getting you and what you do better! Love your style!

Thanks, Petra. I think you're great, too! You're on my radar and reading list. :) I'm looking forward to chatting more on our blogs.

Anyways, thanks for sharing this great post.

Have a graet day :)
My recent post Is Blogging For You?

Sadly, many bloggers are soooo boring that there's not much they can do. Not sure if "Extreme Makeover: Blogger Edition" could help them.

Sure there are things they can do! lol If anything, they can just stop blogging for awhile until they have something interesting to say. I know I've shut down many blogs until I found a few that just stuck. :)

Hi Tia,

As you can probably guess from the amount of times I retweet your posts, I already love your blog; however, I agree that peppering it with your personal side, and some humour will go a long way to making your blog distinctive from the others.

Keep up the good work, Tia. Enjoying what you do.

Hi Tia
Notice you promise us "More humour".
I try to add humour as I go along, just to break up the information and give people a little smile.

I use the same technique when writing speeches. The audience can only concentrate for so long... then they need relief.

Best form of humour is making fun of yourself, works every time.
Hope it works for you.

Thanks, Latesha, Evelyn and Jan! You guys are great.

I think being original is refreshing!!

I have gotten a lot good advice from what you've posted thus far and look forward to reading posts with your "new" outlook.

Take Care

Raphael! LOL Thanks for the tip. :-) Remind me to associate your email with an avatar... maybe a pic of a dog or cat. And don't forget to leave your Twitter name next time!

You need to add a dog or cat with the biz chicks. We all need a pet at our side...

Michelle - That's fantastic; consider it done. Plus, exposés tend to help everyone - picking up fresh ideas and new tools, etc.

Your stories are great and they make your blog much more interesting to read than just a standard recipe blog.

Sounds interesting and I am excited to see what comes in the future. I know it will be great since you have great ideas. I know that my content can be boring but I do try to spice it up with a story or two. Anyone can post a recipe blog. Anyone can post about learning something new. I am still trying to find my niche and I think I am almost there.
But I think the one thing you mentioned that will help me most is the "expose'" thing. I do need to find people who are doing what I want to do and are successful and find their secrets.

Good luck to you on your quest to blog more bodaciously!

I can't wait to see what you are going to do. I know you are going to do your thing and bring it. :) You have inspired me to let my hair down. lol Take care!
