So I’ve been wanting to put up some of the crazy spam I get for some time. Usually by the time I get around to it, it’s wiped out by Akismet.
But tonight (last night, by the time you read this) I checked my spam filter since I had a feeling someone’s comment got caught up in it (and I was right), so I just decided to read them all. Have you ever done that? It is SOOOOO amusing. 
The title ‘Sex, Lies, Videotape, and Ponies’ actually sums up the spam in my filter currently quite well. With 103 spam comments (and counting), all amassed in a single day, I had quite a list to pick from.
If only comment spammers could be brilliant enough to write something worth posting!! Then it could be a win-win situation. But, nooooooo. They have to be over the top, ridiculous jackasses. And that is why they get caught in the spam filters. Get it right, guys!

Honestly, I can’t even give this one the honor of space on this blog. Suffice it to say it was a news clipping about Erin Andrews, which contained three conspicuously placed links to peephole videos. YUCK. Creepy, nasty, & YUCK.

The spam that’s driving me crazy of recent is that generated by a commentator with some lowest-rate-loan website. I get like 10 spam comments from them each day. So
annoying.
Great blog MEN! That was really happening in this world. Such spammers must not exist and therefore no worth of commenting or even a tiny space in any sites. Such works are stupid and waste of time. I love your post!
Wish I could come up with something clever and crazy that makes the next list but I'm fresh out of ideas.
I don't get much spam on my main blog. I don't even have the "approve before posting" setting on. Disqus has been doing a decent job of keeping them away. However, a few of my smaller ones get dumped on daily! These are good for a laugh. Another advantage of having a blog I guess

LOL apparently I am. Well, it's do follow, so the increase in comment spam doesn't surprise me at all. And I've added the blog to RSS directories… eh, so I think I'm a natural target. Akismet is doing a great job.
Akismet is good, but really hasn't taken care of the more recent spam as well as I would have liked. While spam is annoying, I can honestly say I haven't tried to get a post out of all the spam I receive. I think this post is a good idea – there isn't a lot everyone has in common as bloggers, but one experience we all share is dealing with spammers.

LOL you do seem to attract some crazy spammers. I get the #4 and #7 type all the time. Usually in the form of an incoherently written sentence fragment. If you are going to spam…at least have it make sense, use decent grammar, and make it a complete sentence.
Sometimes they are amusing and sometimes just gross.

It's funny that you use a picture of the product Spam because I had a can sitting on my desk at work for years. I used to do computer technical support via email and we would receive massive amounts of spam, so we finally decided to honor it with an actual can.
And count yourself lucky. At least you get some creative spam comments. Mine don't even qualify as anything but pure, blatant spam!
