The Distinguished Graduate
I noticed that I have not taken any time to talk about my family on this blog. I suppose that is because I do try to keep it focused – to keep myself from getting distracted, and to keep everyone from getting bored.
The following post has nothing to do with blogging or social media or me. lol It’s just a little tribute because I am honored to be a big sister today.
Today, my LITTLE brother, 8 years my junior, turned 22. I could not be any prouder of him. Do you know those kids they call “genius?” That is him. And trust me that is not an exaggeration!
My whole family is just incredibly proud and wishes Dante all the blessings and successes life could possibly bring. I told him the other day that he was just born under a lucky star.
He recently graduated with a degree in Physics from the University of Virginia, where he had a full-ride scholarship granted through the Air Force ROTC program. He was one of very few students to receive that scholarship. He was commissioned upon graduation as an Officer and begins pilot training somewhere in New Mexico (yay, close to us!) in August.
Below are a few pictures from his commissioning, where he was the only one in his little group there (ha, I am so not up to speed with military terms) to receive the honor of Distinguished Graduate, and was given a personally engraved saber.
Update: the degree is Astro-Physics, and he is in Oklahoma (I think).
Go Dante! We love you!
