Apparently, yes, you can. ![]()
With the usage of Google Trends, along with tools like Wonder Wheel, an astute search engine student can see how the semantic web and relationship between forecasting and searching is becoming much more accurate and intimate.
Questions are: can we leverage the trends to predict what people will be searching for tomorrow? And if we can, is there a way to turn that information into profitable niche websites and blogs?
I recently found out about The Internet Time Machine (niche marketing software), because they are part of the huge list of (very intelligent) sponsors for the FamousBloggers CommentLuv blogging contest. I am not an affiliate of the product; this is just my first impressions review of what they are offering, and I really am interested in your thoughts on niche marketing (if that is your thing) and search trends.
When considering any new software – especially software that is intended to help you make money – I look for a few things:
- Transparency. Do they show you the product before you have to buy it?
- Tutorials: Do they show you how to use the product before you have to buy it?
- Novelty: Does it do something different than the rest of the products in the niche?
If you are at all involved with or want to become involved with internet marketing… cloud living… WAHFY (working at home for yourself – I made that up
)… if this is your thing, go check out the site. Good news? They’ve got a ton of reach. Wouldn’t it be weird to consider buying a niche marketing software that gets no visibility. That would be odd. I’m just late to this game. A quick check of their YouTube channel will show you that it’s gotten over 80,000 views. So at least they are not total nobodies crawling out of the woodwork to snatch up your cash.
I’m currently using a load of niche marketing software, so I don’t know if I want to add another to the arsenal just yet. But if you’ve tried this out, perhaps you can leave your thoughts in the comments. Software that works is always a good investment – always.
From their About page:
Take a word in a profitable industry showing rapid search volume increase across the Internet. Now combine that with low quality, low quantity search results and what do you have? We call that a Million Dollar Gap. What it means is there is growing interest in a product or service, but the need isn’t currently being met online. In other words: SUPPLY is not rising with DEMAND. If you can find these niches, these areas that are ripe for profit, before anyone else does, think of the ways you can take advantage of a situation like that.
Immediate standouts for me:
- Real, lengthy videos of the makers using the product.
- Research. For a marketing product, it’s helpful to know that the brains behind it understand market research.
- An active forum. Shows that (a) people have bought and used the product, so you’re not the first, and (b) they are interested in your reactions and thoughts after you have started working with it. So it’s not a hit and run type situation.
Only drawback from first impressions on their site – and this is probably because I’m a blogger – the blog either hasn’t been updated since January 26 or they’ve got a strange blog dating bug.
But their Latest News section on the home page is very up-to-date and they have some great video tutorials. I’ve embedded two here. One is how to set up self-hosted WordPress – this is just because I know some of you are really interested in that, and the other is how to use The Internet Time Machine to find something specific – the types of training that people are looking for and can’t really find.
