Follow Friday: 13 Awesome Posts from Our Circle

20 Aug 2010 – Several weeks back I did an unconventional blogger Follow Friday post that was very enjoyable, so I decided to do it again (ahhh, endorphins).

This time, I am throwing in the term our circle because if you’ve been watching closely and paying attention to who’s blogging and who’s commenting, you’ll start to seen an ever-growing circle emerge. It morphs, of course, and changes, and will continue to grow, but it is a circle nonetheless.

I appreciate everyone who reads this blog so much and hope to continue to be useful, motivational, and supportive. If I left anyone out, it was definitely not intentional – just leave a comment so I can remember next time! Have a great weekend, everybody!

Follow Friday: 13 Posts to re-read, bookmark, and share on Twitter if you haven’t already. Pay it forward, people! :)

Development/Growth

  • The Power of Questions: How Asking Can Help You Rock Your (Digital) Life – Awesome post – Mars Dorian takes a look at how and why we should ask more questions in order to get ahead in business and life.
  • How to Get Off the Meltdown City Express: Got too much on your plate and getting ready to implode? Check out this great post at VirginBloggerNotes, because some of us have been there and sooo done that!
  • How Do Entrepreneurs and Solo Proprietors Juggle All Those Balls? Sherryl Perry of Keep Up with the Web talks about the challenges entrepreneurs and solo proprietors face when we have to wear so many hats (and juggle so many balls).
  • The Road to Success: How do you keep yourself going? What motivates you? Julius over at And Break! talks (briefly) about staying motivated when it seems like success is out of reach.

Networking/Blogging Alliance

  • Take Time to Show Kindness to Fellow Bloggers: Evelyn Parham gives a little tough love here; are you taking the time to reciprocate the favors other bloggers are showing you? Hmmmm???

Blogging Tools/Tips

  • 3 Ways to Keep Readers on Your Site Using Apture: Great, concise review of Apture and the features that you could use to improve average time on site and reader engagement.
  • Back To Your Roots: When does catering to your readers become detrimental to your intentions as a blogger? Wayne Howard brings up some good points based on the Become a Better Listener post. I like this one, because it’s sometimes very easy for people to write about things that get a lot of comments, like social media and SEO, even though that has nothing to do with their blog or target readers. Ya dig?
  • Is the iPad Good for Blogging? What do you think? Kristi breaks it down by posting links to some positive and negative reviews of iPad and asks for your opinion, too.
  • Blogger Tools that Every Blogger Needs to Use: From the list, I’d say BlogGrader.com was the standout tool to me. I’ve used it now and love it. You will, too.
  • Will a Popup Increase Mailing List Subscription Rates? Everyone is using Popup Domination, it seems. Does it work? Justin sheds some light.

SEO

  • When Is #1 Google Ranking Yours to Lose? When you’ve got a sucky domain name, that’s when. Ana’s guest post over at Famous Bloggers gives some good advice regarding how to choose a domain worthy of search engine attention.

Making Money

  • The Ultimate Guide for Making Money Online: I like Kathy’s post since she bases her guidance on common sense and long-term thinking. You’ll find no get-rich quick gimmicky talk here.

A Little Something Different

  • Food Giveaway: Win a Glee Gum Candy Kit! from Gera over at SweetsFoods.com. If I said I wanted to win this for my (2 year old) son, well, I’d be lying. Even while writing this, my mouth is watering for candy now.
  • What’s Eating Your Paycheck? I’m not sure, but if you figure it out, please let me know. Really nifty infographic. Thanks, Laura!

Next Week’s List

Want to be part of next week’s list? It’s easy! Just start interacting here on the blog, on Twitter, and also on the other blogs in the circle. Everyone is welcome, no matter the niche.

I like all the topics about development and growth, especially the road to success. We are all aware that nobody knows the formula in achieving success. But at least we have a sort of an example from those who already succeeded.

Great Round up I like all interesting Awesome collection of very useful articles.

Good list of articles. Really enjoyed the one from Laura and the SEO, When is #1 Ranking In Google Yours To Lose. Its true that there are a lot of sucky domain names, many are kinda scary to click on.

Thanks so much for the mention! And I definitely like some of the other articles a lot, including that great one about the iPad and blogging :)

I'm amazed as on how people create so much love on your love. And I want to extend mine! Love lots Tia! :)

Hi Tia! Thanks for sharing a list of great resources to read on. I love the article about "The Ultimate Guide for Making Money Online". This article really helps me a lot!

Well, that's a good ideal "Follow Friday" think I'm going to create a day for giving out free link back to other blogs too.. talk to you soon.

I'm glad you like it!

I figured that since I am doing this all the time - reading blog posts, why not summarize them each week? So many bloggers do this and it's a great way to recognize each other.

hey Tia, thank you for the mention! i'm glad you like the infographic. as for myself, gas eats a good portion of my paycheck, as well as eating out. i'm going to just have to learn to love washing dishes and eating at home :D have a great Friday!

Tia, thanks so much for including my post amongst all the stellar links you've assembled! I really like the picture of the 'circle' and will carry that with me. Have a great weekend!

You're welcome, Jean! That's how I feel - that it's a circle that just keeps growing.

Cheers,
Tia

So many thanks for including my post with a giveaway. I know isn’t strictly about blogging or social media but candies are magnets for all readers, not only for kids ;-)
I missed some of these posts so more links to read this weekend :)

Enjoy a wonderful weekend!

Gera

You're welcome, Gera!

lol Yes, I love candy and think I could get into a lot of trouble with a candy making kit.

Thanks Tia for including me. I am just checking out all of the other posts. All of the ones I read are really great.

~Dev

Thanks, Dev! I wanted to include something from TechnShare this week but when I went to the site there was a technical issue. Next week I will definitely include a post.

Cheers,
Tia

Thanks for including my article in your roundup. BloggerTools from John was a great article, I didn't even know about blog grader, its very useful.

Hi Justin,

You're welcome. I didn't know about BlogGrader either, and I really like it now.

Thanks for the include! I'll be sure to take a look at these posts and share the luv!

You're welcome, Wayne!

Tia, You’re one of the first bloggers that I started following. I immediately recognized the value of your articles and beyond that your spirit. I’m honored to be included in this list. Thank you so much. I will absolutely pay it forward by reading, tweeting and commenting. I’m confident I’ll learn something on the way!

Hi Sherryl,

You're welcome! I'm sure you'll be in the list a lot, as you always put out content that's useful for business bloggers. I appreciate your following, both here and on Twitter.

Hope you get something out of the posts above! I liked them all.

Cheers,
Tia

Miss Tia.. TY for including me on your Follow Friday List...

Some Awesome posts on there.. I guess I need to get reading ,,lol

Hi John Paul,

You're welcome. It was a great week! Those are all really good posts.

Happy Friday to you to Tia! Thanks you very much!

I can tell from reading the comments that you are leaving on other people's blogs that you know your stuff. There are some comments you have made about detailed situations that I happen to know are true from my own experience. Only someone who with real experience who has been there can make the statements you have made with conviction. Specifically I am referring to something you said about domains with 4 or 5 words in them over at Famous Bloggers.

Your experience also shows in the quality of your posts.

No, Tia didn't pay me to say this. (lol) I just happen to think she is cool and very good at what she does.

Kathy - Thank you so much for the kind words, and for the post you did over at KathyBlogger.com, and for your continued support.

I think you are an incredible writer, and that's obvious, by the way people respond to you here and on your blog.

Thanks, again!

Cheers,
Tia
