I typed it. I know this is a chick blog. But I have to say thank you to all the men out there on the Internet. Why? Because they have not only accepted me but embraced me as a serious blogger.
So I need to give a shout out to the men in my Internet life, who, despite the difference in gender still find the commonality in us online to support me and what I do.
Men like Bill Dorman. The funny man who can crack a joke about being a mom (which he is not) but be serious enough to give me pointers on social media and business.
Men like my Tribemates on Triberr. This is a group of young men that have asked me to be part of their tribe in order to reach our goals with the Million Dollar Blog Project over at Think Traffic. I have barely anything in common with a man in his mid-20’s except the fact that we are trying to become online entrepreneurs.
Men like Pat Flynn, Darren Rowse and Corbett Barr who just want to help people reach their online goals.
Men who have asked me to contribute to their blogs.
Men who interact with me every day on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
These men have helped forge ahead and do not see gender as a difference or impediment to business. Sure, they see things in terms of “traffic” and “conversions”, which is blind to gender, color, race, religion, etc. But they go beyond these statistics to respectfully welcome women into their world. (And we welcome them in ours.)
I am by no means saying women need men to be successful. No. I am saying thank you to these wonderful men for not thinking twice about whether or not a woman can do the job online. This gives everyone less stress to simply open up and be whoever you choose.
This is an ode to our male counterparts. Thank you for seeing that women can rock! And rock well!
