Merry Christmas, ya jerk.
Grinches need gifts, too. Gifts are about the giver, right? And, you get a sense of purpose and appreciation when you give.
Still, buying a present for a Grinch isn’t easy. I’m sure many of you would prefer to lump some coal, or dog poo, into a sack and give it to the Grinch in your life.
Despite the temptation, giving mean/gag gifts only works on people who are already good-natured. Giving something mean to your Grinch will probably make them Grinch-ier.
So to avoid that, I’ve come up with four easy and fun gifts for grinches of all types. And as you read this, just remember that there’s always a reason someone is a Grinch! If you can pinpoint it, you can help make it better.
Chilly Grinches - Snuggie
I don’t know about you, but I get really grouchy when I’m cold. Maybe the Grinch in your life is just cold.
Warm them up with a cute Snuggie. There are Snuggies to fit all personal styles, so look around and be sure to choose the Snuggie wisely. If the Grinch is anything like me, he or she will appreciate being able to wrap up in just the right amount of fuzzy warm material that makes all the irritating people fade away.
Buy a real Snuggie – don’t get ripped off. Check out MySnuggieStore.com.
Irritable Grinches - Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix
If the Grinch in your life is happy some of the time and then ready to bite your head off the rest of the time, perhaps nutrition is to blame. Chocolate may not be particularly nutritious, but it does have elements that cause chemical reactions in the brain – good, happy ones.
But beware – don’t just buy your Grinch a box of chocolates (unless it’s from these ladies). Do this instead:
- Go to Penzeys. Purchase their high-end natural cocoa.
- Mix it up with some sugar and dry vanilla and other stuff. Test your mix by adding 2 tbsp of it to 1 cup of hot milk.
- When you’ve gotten the mix right, put it in a clear bag from Michaels, sealed with clear tape, and print out a creative label on a sticker.
- Attach the sticker to the bag.
Presto. Instant gift. Made with love. And utter concern for their grouchy mood.
Tired Grinches – TempurPedic Pillows
Yep. Lack of sleep can turn someone into a complete Grinch. It’s not their fault – really – unless they are 40 year old gamers living in their parent’s basements and staying up all night talking to invisible teammates in Tokyo.
Lack of sleep can be caused by, among other things, poor bedding including mattress, box spring, and pillows. While a TempurPedic mattress might be out of your gift price range, a TempurPedic pillow is not! They have new, softer pillows designed to feel like down that come in medium, soft, and extra soft, for $99/per.
Pick up two for your Grinch and call it a night. (Right now, in most stores they are buy two get one free).
Lonely/Down and Out/Sad Grinches – The Big Bang Theory Box DVD Set
If you’ve ever seen The Big Bang Theory, you cannot help but consider yourself better off than at least ONE of those silly characters. Watching that series is therapeutic. It’s hilarious, too. Get your Grinch something funny that they can take back to their cave and watch all by their lonesome, and see if they don’t come out of their funky mood in no time.
Buy it on Amazon.com and have it gift-wrapped for your convenience.

This is such a relatable post not only to those ‘grinches’ but people who you find it hard to shop for as a whole. This is the season when people really realize their loneliness, grief, or other trials. Sometimes its not necessarily you they are mad at but themselves. So, letting that person know you acknowledge their existence is a gift.
STYLE. SAVVY. CHIC.

LMAO! This was great. Funny though I think when “Grinches” shop, they shop for them self! I liked your choice of gifts and the post was super funny.
@Sonia (Sunnnee) Thanks, Sonia. I had a lot of fun writing it!
