Top 5 Business Smartphones

February 20, 2012

New smartphone apps are launched daily by the thousands, with six to eight billion apps available already. In addition, business owners have mountains of hardware options to run all of this software. I reviewed many manufacturer websites along with their critical reactions, and these are the top five business smartphones.

  1. Motorola’s Droid Pro starts off as our baseline. Weighing in as the heaviest smartphone, the Droid Pro has the benefit of a resilient, sleek frame without the ruggedized shells that military and construction workers need. It has a QWERTY keyboard (even though its large touchscreen display shines brightly and is responsive), IT security level infrastructure, and a cool feature called Remote Wipe to protect you if lost or stolen.
  2. Another Android-based model is the T-Mobile G2 that’s comparable with the Droid Pro but has a better battery from what we learned from the online reviews.
  3. While the Apple iPhone 4S is known as an upscale, consumer smartphone, the Mac geniuses have reconciled with enterprise users by enabling Microsoft Exchange. And, with that one bold stroke, many of the features for business users translate quite well. The only downside to any Apple product is the hefty pricing structure associated with them.
  4. One of the strongest newcomers in the market is a Windows 7 phone, Dell’s own Venue Pro. Without a single feature explained, the reason it is such a powerful player is thanks to the fact that Dell has decided to replace all its employees’ phones with this model. Enough said?
  5. Top 5 Business SmartphonesResearch in Motion, Ltd. (RIM) is no stranger to the business market and searching for BlackBerry business cell phones, we found the BlackBerry Torch 9810. Having a light frame (5.68oz) and its own QWERTY keyboard that slides out from under the touchscreen display, it’s a cost-effective solution for the business savvy professional. It has all the world-class business features you’d expect, including Push™ email, 4G speed, 8GB of storage (and up to 32GB expansion), classic BlackBerry Messenger, and a 5MP camera with flash.

What does your business use as its smartphone of choice?
